Evil Pussy is stuck in a tree.
I’m not joking. Its going on 48 hours. You would think that there is some kind of animal rescue around here, but there isn’t.
I called the Fire Department, I guess that whole “firemen saving cats in a tree” is a myth. I called the Humane Society, they don’t rescue. Apparently Animal Control doesn’t really care about people’s pets. So I’ve been listening to my cat cry all day. They say when the cat gets hungry he will climb down.
He is up there over 50 feet. The tree is located in the woods so we can’t drive any kind of vehicle in. There are no ladders long enough, and the tree is old and half dead so we can’t climb it.
Tonight we spent 3 hours throwing a spool of twine as high as we could into the tree and hoisting a bucket full of tuna as up. We got close once but it was to far out on the limb, he couldn’t make it.
Its really sad. I feel so helpless.
Tomorrow I’m going to try a new plan. I’m going to call the people who trim trees, maybe they have a suggestion.
Pray for Evil Pussy today, we need all the help we can get.

sounds like your best shot is your tree trimmer idea BUT if that
doesn't work out - seriously - get a sling shot (NO do not shoot the cat)
you can get a large nut for a 1/2 or 3/4 " bolt ; tie a pretty heavy cord thru
the hole in the nut. SHOOT the nut (or other heavy selected object) to where the
cat is hanging out ... seriously tie a sizable bucket on the end of the cord
a big enough bucket for food (as the lure) and or cat blanket. once evil kitty
is in the bucket lower quickly .... sounds crazy but i've done it and it does work !!!!!
