1st Grade Romance
Tuesday, June 9, 2009 My seven year old came home yesterday with a curious new bobble around her neck. It was some kind of blown glass ornament on a string. The conversation went something like this.
Me: Where did you get that beautiful new bling?
7 Year Old: Mom, its a necklace.
Me: Ok, where is it from?
7 year old: Jake
Me: WOW thats intense, are you his girlfriend.
7 year old (furious): NO Mom, he just likes me ok, ugh.
Fast forward to 7:00 that evening. I was in the bathroom, when she came in and locked the door.
Me: What? What are you doing?
7 year old: I have a secret and you'll tell it.
Me: No I won't. Maybe I'll blog about it, but I totally won't tell your Dad.
7 year old: OK, because I don't have a boyfriend.
Me: Ok
Then she whipped out a little notebook turned the page and handed it to me to read. There in little first grade scrawl was the words:
I LOVE JAKE.
Then as quickly as she came in she ran out.
So sad. She is already tangled in loves cruel web.
So that prompts today's question: Do you remember your first crush? What was their name?
My first crush was named Abe Moss. He played soccer and had nice hair.
Your turn.

Jonah Mock - 2nd Grade - He gifted me a "Judy Jetson" necklace after one week and a "Love Potion #9" necklace right before we broke up...which was the following week. Man, I wish I could remember who broke up with who...
Seriously, are we the only ho's on the planet who had grade school crushes?
Ian. He could closed-mouth kiss like a champ. I honestly don't remember feeling the least bit tripped out when we moved on. What happens to us as adults?
Girl,
How cute is this? Nothing like sharing a mother daughter moment while on the toilet!
it just warms my heart up!

First crush...Harry Hamlin circa Clash of the Titans. He killed Medusa so we could all gaze upon him without turning...completely...to stone. He broke up with me circa L.A. Law. Susan Dey be damned.
My first celebrity crush was Superman.... I loved him. Christopher Reeves as Superman is the standard in which I judge all other men...
