The World is Full Of Haters
Monday, May 4, 2009 Why do we have different standards for celebrities than other people? I don't get it. If you were a talented athlete or singer, and people were offering to give you millions of dollars to do what you love to do, you would take the money. You might be the most god fearing goody goody in the world, or you might like to screw hookers and take drugs, but guaranteed you'd take the money. Anybody who says that they wouldn't like to be rich and famous, because of the "scrutiny" that fame brings is a liar.

Today an unauthorized biography of A-Rod was released. It was written by Selena Roberts, the same Sports Illustrated writer that broke the story about A-Rod's past steroid use. (Which he publicly admitted to) Now Ms. Roberts is trying to make more money by writing a book about what a bad person A-Rod is. As you might guess she is a bug eyed shrew who probably hasn't gotten dick in 10 years. So it is pretty obvious why she would hate the kind of guy who would never give her the time of day. She probably was the undercover ho of some athlete in her college days and now she is seeking revenge. I came to this conclusion after watching her interview on the Today Show. She is bitter, and there is NO denying it. Matt Laurer grilled her and she admitted that many of the "sources" she used to substantiate her claims would not go on the record and/or flat out denied telling her anything. Her justification was that she wrote an article about his past steroid use, and it was true, so every other rumor must be as well.
Correct me if I am wrong but do good people write slanderous books about other people in order to turn a profit?
If A-Rod does/did do drugs it is the responsibility of his employer to drug test him. If his employer is supplying him with the drugs, than why not go after the entire New York Yakees? He is a professional baseball player. He gets paid to win games, he is not paid to be a good person. There is nothing I hate more than people who try to pick apart someone for being a "bad" role model. Its not illegal to be an asshole.
If he is "cheating" at baseball I'm sure he isn't the only one. The problem is that no other baseball player is as popular in the press as A-rod. If she wanted to expose a less famous person no one would give a shit or read her book.
My intent isn't to pity a man who is hardly an underdog, but the fact is that if he wasn't good looking and screwing Madonna, would we even care?
