Wednesday Morning Nirvana
Tuesday, March 3, 2009 This clip scares the shit out of me, and makes me happy at the same time.
Come As You Are is a bit more scary when the old people sing it. My problem with this song is that it reminds me of high school, and the smell of marijuana. And then I see that Grandma singing it and it reminds me of my Grandma, and then the overwhelming fear that Grandma's might know about marijuana. I don't ever want to think about my Grandma the Catholic Saint smoking a doobie and listening to Nirvana. Its just not right. I don't know, thats where my mind took me when I watched this.
And then I was disturbed a little when they gave you the wide angle and there was that guy on the end warbling, he is feeling the music.
The beat on this clip is that its from a documentary about the Young At Heart Chorus:
Prepare to be entertained by the inspiring individuals of YOUNG@HEART, a New England senior citizens chorus that has delighted audiences worldwide with their covers of songs by everyone from The Clash to Coldplay.
My friend ordered a copy from Amazon for the price of $4. I will be going over to her house and forcing her to let me watch it with her, I can't watch it alone, for fear that there is anything remotely romantic going on between the Kurt Cobain Granny and the Warbler, they were singing to each other....you know it.
I need to see this for a couple of reasons, first of all I need to see if they got these elderly people stoned so that they could understand the music better.
Secondly, it makes me happy to think about Grandparents rockin in the free world.

Jessica Simpson: Do you see the African American Lady on the right of the lead singer? Now thats how you properly rock the high wasted jean look.
